Accuracy matters more than efficiency in many areas of life.
Golf. Marriage. And yes, #Hiring...
For fun, I'm giving away $150 in Amazon gifts cards to whoever best answers the following question:
WHAT'S AN AREA OF LIFE/WORK WHERE ACCURACY MATTERS MORE THAN EFFICIENCY?
Why does hiring accuracy matter more than efficiency?
1) If you hire wrong the 1st time, it doesn't matter how efficient you were. You're going to have to do it again.
This becomes a vicious, never-ending cycle when efficiency is prioritized over accuracy.
2) The opportunity cost of a bad hire in a role where a great hire would have been is astronomical.
A bad hire may not even create enough value to recoup what it costs to employ them.
A great hire will create 5, 10, or even 100x more value than their cost.
Hiring Efficiency matters. But Hiring Accuracy matters more.
